UPDATES: No. 15 Shasta College hosts No. 5 American River in monumental clash

The 15th ranked Shasta College football team hosts No. 5 American River College Saturday at 6 p.m. in the Sierra Pacific Industries College Game of the Week for a pivotal game for the NorCal Conference title. The Knights come in 7-1 while the Beavers are 6-2.

Free admission will be given to people who bring an unwrapped toy for the fourth annual Shining Knight Toy Drive. The Knights will deliver the toys to a charity later this year.

Shasta College is 10-11 all-time against American River, including winning the first matchup 20-14 in 1955. ARC has won the past five meetings. Shasta College has not beaten ARC since 2004.

Shasta College quarterback Hokulani Wickard needs 18 completions and 36 pass attempts to tie Ricky Ray’s all-time record at Shasta College. Ray completed 353 passes and attempted 588 from 1997-98. Wickard is 335-for-552 for his career as a Knight. He also has thrown for 4,068 yards, which is fifth all-time in school history. Brian Jones holds the all-time mark with 5,375 yards set in 1999-2000.
