Tri Counties Bank Player of the Game: Alec Meek, Shasta

In Shasta’s wing-T offense, the fullback has to be tough and durable, willing to put his head down and pick up the tough yards.

Senior Alec Meek fits that bill, a hard-nosed runner who loves being the hammer up the gut.

In Friday’s 35-14 Shasta loss to Eureka, Meek was one of the offensive bright spots for the Wolves (1-2) and for that effort the senior earns the Tri Counties Bank Player of the Game from the Redding Rancheria Game of the Week.

Meek ran for 64 yards on 10 carries on Friday for the Wolves and turned a short bench route catch into Shasta’s lone offensive touchdown.

“Meek is a hard-nosed kid who’s getting better the more he touches the ball,” coach JC Hunsaker said.
