The Shasta girls basketball team brought home a consolation title last week from the Kimball Christmas Tournament, going 3-1 in the four-game tournament.

The Wolves (7-5) dropped the opener against the hosts – 50-40 – only to rebound with three straight over upper division opponents to grab the consolation trophy and earn the Tri Counties Bank Girls Basketball Team of the Week.

Against Kimball, Shasta was paced by Ella Rodriguez, who poured in 13 and got 10-point contributions from Ava Jackson and Isabelle Smith.

The Wolves then proceeded to slice through the consolation side of the bracket, beating Stockton teams McNair 62-21, Stagg 61-15 and Weston Ranch 58-45.

Against McNair, Jackson went for 16 and Smith grabbed 13 boards. In the win over Stagg, Smith dropped 12, Taryn Giacomelli added 12 and Jackson eight.

In the physical consolation final, Jackson went for 18 and Gaicomelli added 10. Jackson was named to the all-tournament team.

Shasta is back in action after the New Year at the West Valley Tournament.
