Clutch shot propels Redding Christian girls to 41-37 overtime win in Division VI finals

Redding Christian’s Aleah Matos scored eight points in the Lions’ 41-37 win over Etna on Saturday in the Northern Section Division VI girls championship game. None were bigger, however, than the game-tying 3-pointer the sophomore drained from the right corner to give RC life and send the game to overtime. In the extra period, Sammie Wunner took over down low and helped Redding Christian win the battle of the Lions and avenge last season’s 46-36 section title loss to Fall River.
