Astro Jump Boys Basketball Team of the Week: Enterprise Hornets

Jim Deaver knew his Enterprise boys basketball team was getting close. The Hornets had been on a roller coaster of wins and losses before a 45-42 overtime loss to rival Foothill. In the loss, the east siders had shown moxie and a fire. The Hornets fell two nights later at Pleasant Valley, but Deaver’s crew bounced back and completed a three-win week last week, handling Red Bluff and rival Shasta at home before dispatching Ceres on Saturday in an MLK showcase game. The trifecta is good enough to earn this week’s Astro Jump Boys Basketball Team of the Week.

Enterprise aces exam as school subjects play part in 51-42 win over Shasta

School lets out for Shasta and Enterprise around 2:30 p.m. every day but Wednesday.

Thursday night, the Hornets’ boys basketball team used a little night school to earn a 51-42 win over crosstown rival Shasta. The annual rivalry game featured courses in history, arithmetic, chemistry and physics.
