Jim Deaver knew his Enterprise boys basketball team was getting close. The Hornets had been on a roller coaster of wins and losses before a 45-42 overtime loss to rival Foothill. In the loss, the east siders had shown moxie and a fire. The Hornets fell two nights later at Pleasant Valley, but Deaver’s crew bounced back and completed a three-win week last week, handling Red Bluff and rival Shasta at home before dispatching Ceres on Saturday in an MLK showcase game.
