Enterprise girls race into Division III finals with team effort in 77-36 win over Red Bluff

Make no mistake – the Enterprise girls basketball team is no one-trick pony. Yes, Jadyn Matthews is the senior leader of the 24-5 Hornets, but the cast that surrounds her can ball.

And the top-seeded Hornets did just that Tuesday in a 77-36 Northern Section Division III semifinal win over Red Bluff at Manatowa Gym that saw 11 of the 14 rostered players score. All playoff coverage is presented by Redding Rancheria.

Harlan Carter Invitational girls preview

With a full week or more under our belts, it’s time for the ladies. The 45th annual Harlan Carter basketball tournament tips off Thursday at Shasta High School and runs through the championship game on Saturday. The Enterprise Hornets are defending champions and look to make it two in a row. They open against Willows, while fellow district school Foothill opens with Placer and the host Shasta Wolves have Eureka at 7 p.m. Thursday in the marquee game. Other schools include Chico and Sacramento High.
