The 2018-19 All Northern Section boys basketball team includes seven Shasta County players, two Mount Shasta brothers and six others who all led their teams to impressive seasons and equally impressive postseason runs.Leading this year’s boys selections is MVP Kole Riccomini of Mount Shasta, who led the Bears to the CIF Division V state title game.

Astro Jump Boys Basketball Team of the Week: Shasta Wolves

The Shasta Wolves are right there, especially after a 2-0 week to end the regular season and heading into the Northern Section Division III playoffs with the No. 4 seed and momentum. The Wolves exacted revenge over Enterprise on Tuesday and then beat Red Bluff in a statement game and earned the the Astro Jump Boys Basketball Team of the Week. It’s the second time the Wolves have earned the honors.

Foothill outlasts Shasta for 72-67 overtime win

The Shasta Wolves played 30 minutes of pretty good basketball Tuesday against Foothill. Problem is, including the overtime period, the game lasted 36 minutes.

Foothill (18-7, 5-2 Eastern Athletic League took advantage of ice-in-the-veins free throw shooting late, five players in double figures and a few bad possessions by the Wolves to come away with a 72-67 EAL win at the Cougars’ Palace.
