No. 1 Pierce 56, No. 9 Calaveras 50
The top-seeded Bears advanced to the semis after outscoring Calaveras 16-6 in the second quarter to lead 29-20 at half. Pierce (27-4) hosts No. 5 Eastside College Prep Saturday in the NorCal semis.

No. 3 San Domenico 68, No. 6 Gridley 55
The Bulldogs ended their season 22-9 overall after losing in the NorCal quarterfinals.

The Vikings advance to the NorCal semis at 18-11 overall. They travel to No. 1 Colfax Saturday at 6 p.m.

The top-seeded Eagles (25-8) advance to the NorCal semis to host No. 4 U-Prep Saturday at 6 p.m. in a rematch of the Northern Section D-IV final.

The Cubs had their 14-match winning streak snapped with a home loss to Hilmar (20-6) in the NorCal semis. Anderson finishes its season 24-2-1 overall.

No. 3 Pleasant Valley 0, No. 2 Oakland Tech 0 (3-1 PKs)STORY
The Vikings won 3-1 in penalty kicks to advance to Saturday’s 4 p.m. NorCal championship game at home against rival No. 4 Chico.

No. 4 Chico 0, No. 1 Lowell 0 (PKs)
The Panthers won in penalty kicks to advance to Saturday’s 4 p.m. NorCal championship game against No. 3 Pleasant Valley, which beat Oakland Tech on penalty kicks.

CIF NorCal Division VI Quarterfinals

No. 3 Fall River 60, No. 6 St. Bernard’s 49
The Bulldogs outscored the Crusader’s 21-10 in the final period to pull out the home win in the NorCal playoffs. Fall River improves to 24-6 overall and goes on the road Saturday to No. 2 Ripon Christian near Manteca in the NorCal semifinals.

No. 1 Weed 54, No. 8 South Fork 35
The Cougars won at home to improve to 22-4 overall and host No. 4 Ferndale in Saturday’s NorCal semifinals.

No. 1 Laytonville 58, No. 8 Fall River 56
The Bulldogs nearly pulled off the road upset. Fall River led 32-29 at half but was outscored 15-7 in the final period to end the season 22-6 overall.

CIF State Playoffs

Division III

No. 11 Foothill 68, No. 6 Palma 51
The Cougars knocked off the Chieftains from Salinas (a D-IV Central Coast Section team), outscoring them 14-1 in the opening quarter before leading 35-10 at half. Foothill shot 62 percent from the floor in the game and was led by Luke Lindsey’s 18 points and Bekdoo Lewis’ 17 points. Lewis added eight rebounds and Brandon McCracken had seven boards. Foothill (26-5) hosts No. 14 Sequoia on Thursday at 7 p.m. in the NorCal quarterfinals.

No. 8 Pleasant Valley 58, No. 9 Central Catholic 55
The Vikings won at home despite being outscored 16-11 in the fourth quarter. PV hosts No. 16 Wood — which upset No. 1 Palo Alto 40-33 — in the NorCal quarterfinals.

No. 7 Cloverdale 62, No. 10 Enterprise 40
The Hornets lost on the road in the opening round of the D-IV state playoffs to the Eagles (25-2), a North Coast Section D-V team. Enterprise, which was the D-III Northern Section runner-up, finished the year 19-13 overall. Mianna Saechao led the Hornets with 10 points, including three 3-pointers as Enterprise scored 27 of its total from beyond the arc. Cloverdale’s Teyha Bird scored 31 for the home team.

No. 5 Pleasant Valley 52, No. 12 El Dorado 46
The Vikings won at home and advance to the NorCal quarterfinals to play No. 4 Mills Thursday at 6 p.m. Christiane Carlisle scored 23 for the Vikings in the win. Mallory Moore added 14 points and Shaley Vieg finished with 10 points.

CIF NorCal D-III Quarterfinals

No. 2 East Union 2, No. 7 Shasta 1
The Wolves were eliminated in the state tournament to the Lancers of Manteca. Luke Bland scored for the Wolves in the 66th minute. Shasta, which finished the year 13-3 overall, saw East Union net the equalizer with less than 10 minutes remaining before scoring the golden goal in overtime.

CIF NorCal D-V Quarterfinals

No. 2 Anderson 1, No. 7 Colusa 0
The Cubs edged fellow Northern Section foe with a second-half goal. Anderson improves to 24-1-1 on the year and hosts No. 3 Hilmar (19-6) of the Sac-Joaquin Section on Thursday at 4 p.m. at the California Soccer Park.

The Panthers allowed a goal in each half and managed six shots on goal — three from Emma Nichols and one each from Sami Isheim, Isabel Lendman and Haley Bramante. Goalkeeper Kylie Walsh had 13 saves. U-Prep finished the season 25-1-1 overall.
