Through the first month of the season, Shasta College’s football team is one of 12 teams without a loss in the state. And the voters are taking notice.

Unbeaten Shasta College is 15th in the Junior College Athletic Bureau Coaches Poll, the highest ranked the Knights have been since being No. 15 at the end of the 2016 season when they finished 10-1 following a loss to West Hills in the NCFC American Division Championship Bowl Game.

Shasta College has jumped out to a 4-0 start and is coming off a 22-6 home win over Sacramento City College Saturday in the Sierra Pacific Industries College Game of the Week.

The Knights are atop the NorCal Conference standings with both Butte College and American River College losing for the second week in a row.

In the California Community College Sports Information Association poll (CCCSIA), Shasta climbed four spots to No. 11 in the state.

Shasta is also No. 5 in the NorCal National Division, which is the poll used to determine the playoff seeding. San Mateo in the NorCal poll, followed by Modesto, Fresno City and San Francisco, respectively.

Shasta College also moved into the JCGridiron’s Dirty 30 National Rankings at No. 50. The Knights were ranked 49th in the national preseason poll.

Below are the rankings:
