Thursday, May 13

Prep girls basketball

West Valley 60, Anderson 38
The Eagles beat the Cubs thanks to 12 points each from Jasee Heacock and Morgan Montgomery. Alexis Proscher scored 10 points in the win.

Prep boys basketball

Yreka 58, U-Prep 57
The Panthers (4-1) suffered their first loss of the year, shooting 36 percent from the field. Aiden Lipman led U-Prep in scoring with 20 points, Kameron Morphew scored 16 points and grabbed eight rebounds, Tanner Stephens had 10 points and nine rebounds and Kevin Cox scored nine points to go with six steals.

Shasta 2, Foothill 1
The Wolves improved to 6-0 and the Cougars dropped to 0-4.

Prep girls soccer

Shasta 2, Foothill 2
The Cougars and Wolves played to a 2-all draw. Shasta is 4-1-1 on the year and Foothill is 1-3-1.

Prep baseball

Enterprise 7, Red Bluff 6
The Hornets (1-6) won their first game of the year over the Spartans (8-5).

Wednesday, May 10

Prep baseball

Foothill 5, Shasta 3
The Cougars won to improve to 5-2 and the Wolves dropped to 2-3. Hunter Pinkston was 2 for 3 with an RBI and a run, Andrew McMurtrey was 2 for 4 with a double, RBI and a run, Chase MClung was 2 for with a double and Jarrod Morris scored a run for Shasta. McClung pitched 4.1 innings and took the loss.

Red Bluff 9, Enterprise 2
The Hornets lost on the road to fall to 0-6.

Chester 22, Burney 4
The Raiders fell to 0-7 with the loss.

Los Molinos 18, Redding Christian 8 (6)
The Lions trailed 10-8 in the bottom of the sixth before giving up eight runs in the inning to end the game. Clark Smith was 2 for 4 with three RBIs, Max Beasley was 2 for 3 with a run, Jace Churchin was 1 for 2 with two RBIs and two runs and Jonah Osborne and Gavin Webb each scored twice for the Lions.

Foothill 11, Enterprise 3
Foothill’s Kira Montgomery was 4 for 5 with a home run and three RBIs, Savannah Cruz was 3 for 4 with a home run, a triple, two RBIs and three runs, Baylee Zahniser was 2 for 5 with an RBI and a run, Macey Bunn was 3 for 4 with a double and an RBI, Sierra Hunt hit a double and scored a run and Miranda Helman was 2 for 4 with an RBI. Hannah Heglan struck out four, walked four and allowed three runs on eight hits in seven innings for the win.

Enterprise’s Kiara Yao was 2 for 2 with a double, Jaylee Ponte was 2 for 3 with two runs and Emma Keltner was 1 for 4 with a double and a run.

Burney 16, Chester 1 (5)
Kaitlin Estes threw a five-inning complete game, striking out four and allowing one run on two hits. She also scored three runs. Vanessa Munguia was 2 for 3 with four RBIs and two runs and Evelyn Castellanos was 1 for 2 with three RBIs and a run.

Red Bluff 11, Shasta 0 (5)
The Wolves were no-hit in the loss to drop them to 1-4 on the year.

Los Molinos 10, Redding Christian 7
The Lions lost to fall to 6-6 on the season.

Tuesday, May 11

Prep girls basketball

Shasta 66, Red Bluff 64 OT
Isabelle Smith dropped 21 as the Wolves improved to 3-1, while Ella Rodriguez added 20 in the victory, including 11 in the fourth quarter and bonus frame. Taryn Giacomelli scored 11 for Shasta. Alyvia Mackey had a monster night in the loss, scoring 14 of her game-high 27 in the fourth period and overtime.

West Valley 10, Anderson 0 (6)
The Eagles won in six innings behind Hayden Boyes’ three-hit complete-game shutout. Boyes struck out eight and walked three to earn the victory and he was 1 for 2 with an RBI and a run at the plate. Ashtin Wacker was 3 for 4 with a double, an RBI and two runs, Brier Boyes was 2 for 4 with two doubles, three RBIs and a run and Kadyn Jaramillo was 2 for 2 with a double and three runs. West Valley moves to 2-3 and Anderson drops to 0-5.

Redding Christian 21, Quincy 14
Max Beasley was 5 for 5 with a double, triple, four RBIs and three runs, Clark Smith was 4 for 6 with two RBIs and four runs, Jace Churchin was 3 for 5 with two RBIs and a run, Jonah Osborne was 3 for 4 with two RBIs and two runs, Karson Molter was 2 for 4 with two RBIs and two runs, Carson Piper was 2 for 5 with two RBIs and three runs, Gavin Webb was 3 for 4 with an RBI and three runs.

Quincy 12, Redding Christian 1
The Lions fell to 6-5 with the loss.

Prep boys soccer

Shasta 3, Red Bluff 0
The Wolves (5-0) stayed unbeaten with a home victory over the Spartans.

Prep girls soccer

Red Bluff 3, Shasta 1
The Spartans handed the Wolves their first loss of the season. Shasta fell to 4-1 while Red Bluff improved to 3-4.

Monday, May 10

Prep boys basketball

U-Prep 54, Pierce 33
Tanner Stephens dropped 32 points,  grabbed 12 rebounds and four steals to lead the Panthers to a 4-0 start. Kameron Morphew scored nine points and had 13 rebounds and Kevin Cox had five rebounds, three assists and three steals.
