SCS Power Rankings: West Valley keeps top spot after being pushed to overtime by CV

We’re heading into the final week of the 2021 spring season with one game remaining — Foothill travels to Shasta on Friday to put a bow on the spring season.

Here’s a look at the Shasta County Sports Power Rankings following Week 6.

Editor’s note: We did not rank Redding Christian due to only four games on its schedule in spring 2021.

7. Anderson Cubs

Last week: 7 | Record: 1-3 | Result: Lost 27-26 to Yreka
The Cubs’ disappointing season came to an end with the one-point loss to the Miners. Anderson’s offense had plenty of production as Devin Armstrong threw for 258 yards and a score as Kaeson Saelee had 110 total yards. A mid-schedule COVID break hurt the Cubs, forcing them into a two-week break.

Aaron Williams has been involved in the North State sports scene for nearly two decades. He spent eight years as the Sports Editor for the local newspaper and another four more as the voice of high school football on the radio. Williams has coached various sports at the high school level over the past decade, most recently at Shasta High, and is also the public address announcer for the Shasta College football and basketball teams.
