GALLERY: Fall River falls to Weed in boys D-VI title game

Weed High School rallied past Fall River 49-47 in the Northern Section Division VI championship game Saturday at Shasta College, ending a 31-year drought since it’s last section crown. The Cougars held the Bulldogs scoreless for over 5 minutes and Grant Lane hit the go-ahead 3 late in the 4th quarter to give Weed the lead for good.

It’s Weed’s first section title since 1989.

Maddie is a full-time student that is studying photojournalism at Shasta College. She has focused on sports photography for three years, including two years holding the positions of Yearbook Editor and Photo Editor at Central Valley High School. Maddie has a passion for capturing the energy that surrounds athletics and the athletes that are competing for their schools. You can spot her on the sidelines of various Shasta College sporting events and high school football games. Maddie intends to transfer at the end of this year to a four-year University to finish her undergraduate degree in journalism and photography.
