REDDING — Enterprise High’s football team opened the 2018 season with a 51-14 loss to McQueen of Reno, Nev., Friday night.
The Hornets trailed 9-0 after the opening quarter but cut the deficit to two at half after quarterback Leslie Cummings rushed for two touchdowns. But Enterprise’s couldn’t keep pace with McQueen, which scored five unanswered touchdowns to close out the game.
McQueen helped raise $10,020 for relief funding for students who were displaced by the Carr Fire and presented a check to the Shasta County Office of Education during halftime.
Enterprise (0-1) hosts West Valley (1-0) on Friday night in the Redding Rancheria Game of the Week.
