Football Pick’em Recap: Week 9 presented by Weaver Lumber & Milgard Windows
Four weeks remain in the High School Football Pick’em, sponsored by Weaver Lumber and Milgard Windows and that means time is running out to make up ground with the competitors sitting at the top. Get ready for the final stretch because it’s about to get tougher.
The High School Football Pick’em WILL CONTINUE through the playoffs on Thanksgiving Day weekend. There won’t be very many games but we will be getting creative with the 50/50 choices in the Pick’em every week until a champion is crowned.
Congrats to “mrog” of Redding for being the Weekly Winner for Week 9, earning a free Dutch Bros. Redding Coffee Free Beverage drink. The top five from Week 9 was rounded out by usernames (to keep anonymity) peiball, charles, ZACH and chilepablo, respectively. Note: In the event of a tie with points and tiebreaker, the computer randomly picks a winner. Congrats to you all.
Everyone is still eligible to win the $500 Visa Gift Card for playing for FREE. The person at the end of the season with the most points wins the grand prize. The weekly winners are awarded a Dutch Bros. Coffee Drink.
The tiebreaker counts as 2 points. So if you have a bad week, just hope the tiebreaker falls in your favor.
Here are some stats from last week’s games:
–The public was 8-4 on the week — missing on Shasta over Foothill (12%), Portola over Etna (3%), Live Oak over Pierce (10%) and How Enterprise scoring 15+ or more points against Paradise (11%).
–There weren’t any unanimous picks but 95% of pickers chose West Valley over Lassen, which ended up being a close game with West Valley winning 13-7.
–Nobody picked the bonus/tiebreaker correctly, which was “How many points will the Tri Counties Bank Game of the Week between Foothill (5-3) and Shasta (4-4) be decided by?” The final score was 50-21 so the correct pick was 29+ points. Majority of pickers selected 8-14 points (90%).
Make sure to MAKE YOUR PICKS by Friday at 6 p.m. for Week 10.
Also, check out the Leaderboard to see where you rank so far. It will be updated weekly. The username of ZACH (95 points) is 3 points ahead of alek14 (92 points).
