The regular season ended last week but the High School Football Pick’em, sponsored by Weaver Lumber and Milgard Windows, continues for the Northern Section playoffs. That means there are three weeks left to earn your points and make a run at the grand prize of a $500 Visa Gift Card.
Congrats to “pvgolf” of Chico for being the Weekly Winner for Week 10, earning a free Dutch Bros. Redding Coffee Free Beverage drink. The top five from Week 10 was rounded out by usernames (to keep anonymity) ZACH (the current leader), joey, trinity and gavind1, respectively. Note: In the event of a tie with points and tiebreaker, the computer randomly picks a winner. Congrats to you all. Both pvgolf and ZACH had the high score of 13 points out of the possible 14.
Everyone is still eligible to win the $500 Visa Gift Card for playing for FREE. The person at the end of the season with the most points wins the grand prize. The weekly winners are awarded a Dutch Bros. Coffee Drink.
Here are some stats from last week’s games:
–The public was 9-3 on the week — missing on Gridley over Wheatland (1%) and Burney over Tulelake (16%) and total points between Red Bluff and Enterprise at 46+ (19%) — 55 points were scored.
–The only unanimous pick was Redding Christian beating Greenville. The Lions won 58-18.
–A total of 18 people (10%) correctly picked the tiebreaker/bonus correctly, which was “How many points will the Tri Counties Bank Game of the Week between East Nicolaus (8-1) and U-Prep (8-1) be decided by?” The final score was 26-7 so the correct pick was 14-20 points. Majority of pickers selected 8-13 points (76%).
Make sure to MAKE YOUR PICKS by Friday at 6 p.m. for the opening round of the playoffs.
