Final week ahead for the High School Football Pick’em presented by Weaver Lumber and Milgard Windows

It’s championship week and the final week of the High School Football Pick’em, sponsored by Weaver Lumber and Milgard Windows.

It’s been a long, tough road. It takes dedication to come back week after week to make your picks and to be in it until the end. But there will be one left standing at the end of this week and — barring a drastic setback — it looks like ZACH is on track to end up the champion, holding an eight-point lead over “joey” with a possible 14 points coming in the final week. However, this might be the toughest week when it comes to picking games.

Before we get ahead, let’s take a look back at last week. Congrats to “hallraptor” of Yreka for being the Weekly Winner for Week 13, earning a free Dutch Bros. Redding Coffee Free Beverage drink. The top five from the week was rounded out by usernames (to keep anonymity) GOYOTES, thib, blom53 and lenny74 — all of which earned 12 points and got the tiebreaker correct. Note: In the event of a tie with points and tiebreaker, the computer randomly picks a winner. Congrats to you all.

Everyone is still eligible to win the $500 Visa Gift Card for playing for FREE. The person at the end of the season with the most points wins the grand prize. The weekly winners are awarded a Dutch Bros. Coffee Drink.

Here are some stats from last week’s games:
–The public was 10-2 on the week — missing on Paradise over West Valley (18%) and Los Molinos over Biggs (4%).
–The were no unanimous picks, though, Fall River had all but one entry pick the Bulldogs to beat Portola.
–A total of 14 people (8%) correctly picked the tiebreaker/bonus correctly, which was “How many points will the Tri Counties Bank Game of the Week between Paradise and West Valley be decided by?” The final score was 28-13 so the correct pick was 14-20 points.

Make sure to MAKE YOUR PICKS by Friday at 7 p.m. for the championship of the playoffs. We did not include Wednesday’s D-IV championship of East Nicolaus and Winters. With the Thanksgiving holiday, we wanted to give you a break on making your picks early.

Also, check out the Leaderboard to see where you rank so far. The username of ZACH (129 points) is about to get a nice $500 prize just in time for the holidays with an 8-point lead ahead of joey (121 points) and alek14 (120 points). Osu1 and brad are tied for fourth with 119. As for the media leaderboard Tracy Holmes took over the top spot by one point over newly-married husband T.J. Holmes. Don’t let the marriage fool you, it’s a competition in the Holmes household.

Week 13 games to pick from:
D-V: #3 Los Molinos (9-3) at #1 Fall River (9-2) — Tri Counties Bank Game of the Week
D-II: #3 Pleasant Valley (6-5) at #1 Chico (10-1)
D-III: #4 Paradise (12-0) at #2 Sutter (11-1)
How many of the three #1 seeds will win a Northern Section championship?
How many points will the Paradise-Sutter D-III championship be decided by?
How many points will the PV-Chico D-II championship be decided by?
Will the Paradise-Sutter game score the same amount of points or more than the PV-Chico final?
How many different players will score a touchdown in the PV at Chico D-II championship game?
Will at least one team from the D-II, D-III or D-V championship games score less than 7 points?
Will any team that is trailing at half come back to win the game? Games only include D-II, D-III, D-V games.
How many different players will score a touchdown in the Los Molinos at Fall River championship?
How many rushing yards will Paradise sophomore Tyler Harrison have against Sutter?
*Tiebreaker/bonus: How many points will the Tri Counties Bank Game of the Week between Los Molinos at Fall River game be decided by?
