One thing consistent with superior Shasta College defenses over the past decade is having a middle linebacker that eats everything up. It looks like Aiden Allsop is going to be that guy for the Knights in 2021. The Poulsbo, Wash., native redshirted in 2019 but that time spent in practice will be paying off for years to come.

“Aiden is a very physical guy, a big hitter and typical mike linebacker,” said Shasta College head coach Bryon Hamilton. “He brings an attitude to the defense we want.”

Hamilton believes Allsop’s tenacity is unmatched among this group of Knights. He has the ability to run down anything between the tackles and is expected to plug the middle as Shasta’s sure-tackler. Allsop’s confident mindset can set the tone for the rest of the defense and might be the momentum Shasta needs in a shortened season.
